(More customer reviews)The steel is 8Cr13Mov, very good steel at this price point. Where you go wrong is the construction:the blade plays laterally and vertically, and becomes looser with each opening. The screws are torx screws (star shaped), and sufficiently soft enough to become stripped when you try to tighten them. The clip on mine came loose too: again, the torx screws wouldn't tighten and the clip stayed loose. One day on a walk, it fell out as was never seen again. Not worth it, considering you can go for a real Spyderco for not too much more money (check the Spyderco Tenacious G-10 Handle Folding Serrated Edge Knife).I also didn't much like the weird patterned plastic of the handles.
Stay away, these knives are for the birds.
